See, while it's perfectly understandable that you miss good east coast food, I don't understand the complaining? This is the west coast! I call this complaining the "Amsterdam guacamole" syndrome: when I was 14 and we were living outside of Amsterdam I was really craving Mexican food so we went to this place called "Taco Tree." Needless to say, the food, particularly the guacamole, was nearly unrecognisable. I was initially upset, but then realized that I had an unrealistic expectation of getting authentic Mexican food in the Netherlands.
Since then I've tried the guacamole in Spain, France, Ireland and here in the States in New Hampshire, Georgia, North Carolina and I can't even remember where else...and OF COURSE it does not taste like that lovely green mushy stuff from the Southwest that I know and love. I've stopped expecting it to...like I've stopped ordering it! Now I enjoy exploring the local cuisine of whichever town I'm in. No more "Amsterdam guacamole" sadness!
Oh and pizza? It's a matter of taste of course, but I prefer Chicago-style. Hot dogs too. I was careful to not mention that in New York!

Man, we had some great pub food though!
