I'm going to publicly mojo lizzie for her anti-coastism stance. Yes, NY has NY pizza. Yes, CA has CA churros. Why complain about what is missing? NY isn't LA, or vice-versa.

And, good god... If you think life in Los Angeles or NYC is missing some of your favorite things, thank your choice of deity that you didn't grow up in the midwest. Before the nineties, it had little ethnic food of ANY kind. (I grew up eating la choi "stir fry" and calling it asian food. Tacos consisted of hamburger with "taco seasoning," or pepper.) But living there isn't about the availability of ethnic food, it's about the lower expenses, and the shorter commutes, and the small-town feeling. If you don't like it where you live, leave it. But don't try to one-up where anybody else lives.
