she lived in SF and had a new job... she suggested i read "this book", (
Tales of the City) while she was at work and we would go out sightseeing when she got home.
I read that book cover to cover!
that night i bought all of the titles.
i really enjoyed how Maupin intertwined real-life current events and landmarks with the characters and storyline.

the books have fast-paced short chapters.
