Sooo.... Today is our 10th wedding anniversary.
To commemorate the occasion, my beautiful wife gave me an early Mickey Mouse production pencil. It's from the 1932 cartoon "Mickey's Nightmare". I wanted to match the art to the spot in the short, so I put in the DVD and we watched it together.
The short (which Heather had never seen before) starts with Mickey kicking Pluto out of his bed and putting him in his doggie bed. Then, Mickey places a little statue of Cupid next to his photo of Minnie, extinguishes his bedside candle with a hammer, and drifts off to sleep.
The "nightmare" of the title refers to Mickey's dream that he and Minnie get married and have lots of kids, who tear apart the house and terrorize Pluto and him. Mickey wakes up and smashes the Cupid with the hammer.
Heather and I laughed for about 5 minutes.
Happy Anniversary to us!
