I live in Santa Monica and have no complaints.
It is pricey...but we have Yahoo, Sony Music, UMG, MTV/VH1, and Revolution. We are very close to the Sony lot in Culver City and the Fox lot in Century City.

And there's a beach right nearby. and the Aero theater.

That's my two cents.
