Well, just got back from the show. Sat with LSP and Tom. Saw Al and some of those MC folks scattered about.
Beautiful print of Peter Pan. Was so much better than I remembered it. The panel's exact names escape me at this moment, but I"m sure you all know who I'm talking about.
We had June Forey (Voice of Rocky (from Rocky & Bullwinkle)
The voice of Wendy (And Alice)
The Model for Tink
Voice of the older boy
The animator who did the Genie in Aladdin.
The "special" guest was Richard Sherman who introduced a video of a song that was found in the vaults that was apparently ment for Peter Pan. He took the lyric tha was scribbled on a sheet and created a new song. The song is sung by Page O'Hare (sp) who is Belle.
They show a clip from "Disneyland" with Walt and the cast of Peter Pan and some archival photos. IN the lobby Peter, Wendy and Hook were taking pictures with everyone. The pre-show appearance of Tinkerbelle is really adorable.
Great digital transfer. Puts "Dumbo" to shame.
Speaking of "shame" the extra- extra treat was one of those "disney channel" groups came out and danced around to their version of one of the peter pan songs. I don' tknow which one because I was too busy crying with laughter at how absolutly horrrifying the sight was. I think that was the first time I've heard a groan that loud at the El Cap. People all around were tearing up. The highlight was when they asked the crowd to stand and clap thier hands. Everyone just looked at each other like they'd just been asked to suck the Pipe Organ into thier lungs. As they left the stage with little applause all I could think was "Good luck in rehab." Unfortunatly I also heard myself saying it aloud.
Then after the show they were outside to sign autographs. Lucky there were a couple tweens in the crowd.
