I've been there in August and that river is still churning. Actually, the coldest camping trip I think we've ever done was Tuolume Meadows in mid-August. That was the year they didn't even open up Tioga until July 1 due to the snow. It was 27 at night in Whilte Wolf Campgroud. We were NOT prepared. I think I bought my first polartec that trip.
Oh, that was also the trip Chris saw his first "Large Black Dog" in the forest. It was running.....fast. Luckily it was running away from us because it wasn't a dog.
