How sad ... but 93 ain't bad. What a great artist he was. I've loved all his work in the Disney films, from as early as 20,000 Leagues thru the Poppins period all the way to the Black Hole (when his imagery was better than the film it served).
I wonder if someone less lazy and more net saavy than yours truly can find some of his beautiful matte paintings online, and post them here. I'm suddenly in the mood to gaze upon Ellenshaw's stunning visuals.
