I hope so Traci, but I must confess to a certain level of pessimism. This is occurring in some very entrenched, patriarchal societies and I don't think they're going to change anytime soon. There was a time not so very long ago where we thought we were beyond the religious sectarian strife that we now find ourselves enmeshed in.I remember reading 'The Devil Drives', a bio of Sir Richard Burton (the 19th century explorer) and thinking that so much of what he wrote about was a thing of the past with regards to Islamic fundamentalism and such. Zoom forward to the 21st century, and we're right back to the Taliban,beheadings, jihad and this sort of shyt. I know all we can do is try to fight it, but it's discouraging all the same.
I move we create a matriarchal society that does the same to the perps of this horrific crime. Cut their nuts off and see how they like it.
