For some reason "perfidious" always slips my mind. It's simple enough. Just means full of deceit, and yet I never retain it. So I had to look up that one again .

"parvenus", which turns out to be "a person of obscure origin who has gained wealth, influence or celebrity."

"ultra posse nemo obligatur". Latin. That was fun, because I basically looked through my Oxford to figure out the definition myself. Came pretty close. I couldn't find "nemo". So basically I worked out that it meant "a service beyond what anyone is able to perform". Turns out "nemo" is "no one" not "anyone". And it really means "no one is obligated beyond what he is able to do"

I really, really want to study languages.

Those are just some examples, CP. I had to look up more, but they're simple words I really should have known.
