I'm not saying that a woman shouldn't embrace & celebrate her femininity & sexuality. I completely support that 100%! A healthy self-image not dictated by society and Paris Hilton & pals is admirable. As cliched as it may seem, your mind & soul are the most powerful things about you. Not your funbags.

Then, I saw & read about the most vile thing of all- a stripper pole marketed to & for children. It's one thing to be an adult & have one (I'm not going to lie- I've always wanted one) but a child? And don't even get me started on Bratz dolls. The mold-injected version of the porn star.
I'm kind of with you. I deplore much of what's marketed these days, to everybody, but especially to children. I'm kind of glad we don't have any, because they'd wantt this stuff and under no circumstances would I allow it. So much of "pop culture" is awful. I'm glad to be out of touch with it. Everybody's wearing it, so it sort of looks normal, but it's cheap, trashy, and annoying.

I hate the Bratz dolls too- do you really want your daughter playing with hootchie mama dolls with a name like Brats? Brat is generally something to avoid. I appreciate that they're not Barbie, but they're still awful, just in different ways.

The writing on the butt.... oh, no. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for admiring a good butt, but I don't think it's an attractive look. My friend and I were cracking jokes when a girl walked by with "juicy" on her butt. Um, ewww.

The other thing I hate is when a girl leaves nothing to the imagination. As much as I admire a woman showing off her assets, the "ultra-slut" look just isn't right for daily wear.

I hear you, Ally, and while it may be a "growing older" thing, I don't have a Catholic background to account for any of what I feel.
