The development manager chimed in. She's a non-native speaker of English. Her English is excellent, nearly unaccented and very fluent. But she there are a few odd artifacts of her non-native status in her pronunciation and diction.
She spent the next five minutes talking about the "hoovering" and how it does/should work.
No one in a room full of 20 people corrected her. One guy actually started saying "hoovering". And I resisted with all my might the urge to say, "I think it sucks."
