For the most part, yes. There will of course always be exceptions, but generally speaking, Beardies are very friendly - they are considered to be the most personable of all the reptiles.

I regularly take ours out with me (one at a time - they ride on my shoulder) as I run errands, sometimes for 3 or 4 hours at a time. Often times, after being out for a while, they will get sleepy and nuzzle their nose up to my neck and take a nap.

We currently have twelve Beardies and I got my first one about 3-1/2 years ago. In all that time, I have only been bit once and that was by a Beardie we got at a Petsmart. When they first took him out of his cage (which was WAY too small), he chomped down on my finger. I didn't flinch (it didn't hurt) and he finally let go. He has turned out to be one of our best-tempered Dragons (Gratch is his name).

If you are interested in getting a Beardie (or two), I would be happy to give them to you. You would need to supply your own terrarium and supplies (which can easily be found on Craig's List). Just let me know. I have a couple of clutches due to hatch in a couple of months or I have a couple of adults right now that are less than a year old.
