Name Your Drink(s)

So what are your favorite drinks these days? What are your ordering? What are you enjoying?

I've always been a Martini man of the James Bond variety (Vodka - Shaken, not stirred). Nothing says cocktail sophistication like a clear single olive adorned Martini.

However, in my travels I've been sampling Mojitos - having had an excellent one in Paris, and another good experience in Chicago. Alas, when I tried three of the four varieties at Tortilla Joes - they all disappointed. A recent household experience thanks to Mixologist Tramspotter has restored my faith in the cocktail, but seeing the complexity in preparation - I see that it would be hard to order a good one from anything but a top-notch bar.

At home Bhura Pegs , have been a hit - but again, this is something you have to make yourself to ensure you have the proper ingredients.

These days, my favorite drink to order has been the Manhattan - dark cousin to the martini. Done right it has just enough depth and sweetness to fully satisfy. And the bright cherry shining through the ruddy-amber mix is a quintessential icon of cocktailery.
