It has been like my favorite show for a couple years, but slacked off a little when she got to college. They changed the format so people could join in midseason and not be totally lost. I heard that if it gets picked up for next season it will flash forward. She will be in the FBI internship program or something. I am about 4 episodes behind (they had two this week), so I will not be quite sure what you speak of until I catch up.

Grey's Anatomy spin-off episode? Piz from VM was the cute reciption boy who surfs. (The one they watch when he goes out at lunch and comes back wet!)
