Capt Jack, you quoted it so that is like saying it.
My husband had someone at work who was treating him pretty shabbily. Mind you,
he is the boss but she was talking down to him. He was not used to that as his crew is awesome and none of that goes around. Also, he wasn't sure how to deal with it, her being a woman. But, it really wasn't right and so he did talk to her about it and ya know, it stopped. She treats him with respect. Well, when she falls back he is firm and it is stopped ASAP.
