Ugh...

I'm sorry sorry, Cirque - Squeakers sounds like a personality. Plus, anything with the name Squeakers has to be pretty awesome. What a horrible, horrible thing to have happened.

What worries me about this sort of thing are the links between animal cruelty and human cruelty. Not to diminish what happened to poor Squeakers, but what this person/these people could do in the future might be even worse - what he/she/they might be doing now could be even worse. I shudder to think. Utah just enacted a law that makes it pretty easy to prosecute acts of animal cruelty, particularly because of the implications such an act poses. I don't know if/what other states have in regards to that.

I agree with Gn2Dlnd said - contact to ASPCA or another animal advocacy organization and see what they have to say. He's right, there may be other incidents of such cruelty.

Again, I'm so sorry for Squeakers.
