The logistics to pull that off would be extremely difficult (water dams that would need to envelope the sub as it passes through, water run-off down the windows, etc.). What I would believe is that there is a clear tube that the sub rides through or a clear water wall, with the dry effects (projections, et. al.) being on the other side of the clear glass/poly/whatever.
