I love Canadian chocolate too! I also think it's because of childhood memories because Swiss is much better
But there is nothing like a good coffee crisp or aero bar. When we went to Montreal I introduced my husband to them and he's hooked too! He actually ordered a bunch off ebay last year to get a fix! I found coffee crisp at the dollar store last week and bought him a few.
