Betty, one thing I've learned from my parents (career public school teachers) is that you should ask to see your daughter's file (you have that right) to make sure this teacher hasn't put anything on record that might hinder her in the future. My sister went through a very similar experience with a teacher that, for whatever reason, did not like her and regularly singled her out. When she ended up the next year, her first in Jr. High, in remedial math, my parents got suspicious, asked to see the record, and found that that one teacher had put notes in there that were the reason she was, incorrectly, assigned to that class.
You have the right to see everything, and you have a right to say hell no if they are doing something that you don't want for your child.
