I was starting to think this was "GD loses the consumer gamble" week. First, without road hazard protection, I get a nail in my tire. Now my phone's busted. It can make and receive calls, but the display is nothing but back-lit blue. I've rebooted it, pulled the battery out, smacked it around. Nada.
So I was kicking myself for choosing not to get the phone protection plan as part of my wireless package. But I just took a look, and I think I'm going to come out "ahead" in this. I went into a Sprint store. They couldn't do anything because they don't have a service guy on site, and the closest one that does is closed on the weekends. But they guy figured it'd be ~$50-$60 to repair the phone. The protection plan costs $7/month. I've owned this phone for 20 months. So, $50-$60 vs. $140. I win.
