Lol, totally. I know several people who don't feel they are able to home/unschool, but they incorporate the principles into their lives anyways. Like fostering passions instead of motivating to get good grades, going out of their way to expose their kids to interesting things (because school takes up so much time and it is mostly boring), and really helping their kids follow their interests.
Ozron, that school sounds fantastic. It reminds me of the Sudbury Valley School, which is essentially unschooling in a school.
MW - I agree, what matters is that the kids are happy.
WB - I totally agree about the socialization thing. Here everyone is so spread out that people plan their playdates a few weeks in advance. Our calendar is so full. We have a homeschool preschool group that we go to every week and a few people close by, but in the summertime keeping Indi in touch with his friends is a monumental effort. I long for a smaller, progressive community where socializing flows more freely.
