Chernie, I know how frustrating these kind of situations can be (just ask Heather - she has to live with me when crap customer service sets me off). My advice: don't let up, not even for a minute. Circuit City has the means and the ability to correct the problem. Make sure they do.
I haven't shopped Circuit City since the Divx fiasco (but I've since forgiven Disney - shows what a swell guy I can be).
