So my MIL's birthday was yesterday (Bastille Day), but she had plans to go to a wedding - so we celebrated with her today.
A yummy pancake breakfast at
Sears Fine Food was followed by a tour of San Francisco (and the Bay) in a
Duck Boat - more fun than you'd expect!
The celebration was over by noon - so H and I decided to grab a bite before returning home to the puppies. We wound up at the
Samovar Tea Lounge in SoMa. It was a wonderfully pleasant surprise - with great food and even yummier tea.
...and that's why I'm posting. Heather ordered a tea that I'd never tasted before -
Lapsang Souchong. OMFG! NA and €uro posted that they were drinking it (way back in '05), but nobody mentioned that it's smoky flavor evokes BACON! Needless to say, we bought a tin.
(H says that adding milk and sugar enhances the baconiness of the flavor)
