The best bagel in Los Angeles is the cheese and onion bagel from Brooklyn bagels on Beverly in Koreatown. I buy 'em by the bagful und freeze 'em. Sweet, precious bagel, how I love thee. You are my only true love, bagel. My one and only. When I lived in North Carolina, do you remember my parents sending you buy mail in bulk so I would never have to be without you? Remember that? Hah? Remember? Bagel? Air mail? Parents? Remember that?
Noah's is good, but there is something about them that bugs me. I can't quite put my finga on it.
House of Bagels in SF is great, too.
Earliest bagel memory: I can still remembah my grandpap waking me up at dawn to go out and pick up fresh bagels and pastries. The streets were pitch black, I was in my pajamas and I remember I got to pick out a cookie. Anditwasgood. And I remember the butter. My grandparents went through almost an entire of butter each morning. That'salotofbutter, letmetellya. Anyway, my family took their baked goods very, very seriously. I try to keep that tradition alive.
It's true. No joke.
