Sadly, it was not me who sold the poster. Heritage Auctions in Texas (www.ha.com) had the poster in their most recent sale, with buyers premium it hammered at just over 38k. The estimate was a conservative 6-8k.

Poster prices have been going higher and higher and while I have 3 Valentino related posters, I can't imagine any of the 3 I own would come even remotely close to what The Eagle sold for. If they were to garner close to that, heck, I might be able to buy a condo with a good down payment!

I'll change my comment, though, it's was not me who sold. I was not even in the run for the bidding. A friend of mine in Baltimore (who collects Douglas Fairbanks and has many beautiful posters) placed a bid of 6k on it. Needless to say, she didn't come close to getting it.
