Although I'm a complete & total animal lover (animals are my absolute passion), and even though I'm really no fan of snakes, was it necessary to pin the snake and use a shovel to decapitate it? Isn't that an animal control issue or are the rules different on a ranch where you have to act fast in order to protect your horses? Isn't there a better, humane option or am I just a dumb city girl?
Either way, poor snake. That just seems cruel.
Oddly enough, we got into the decapitation-body-still-movin' convo last night. My boyfriend was watching 300 when I arrived at his place, and there's an especially gruesome decapitation scene. It's really rather disturbing to see the spartan's head hit the ground as his body still stands, until eventually bending and dropping. Oof.
