Yeah, it's silly to get excited over it. We moved into this apartment in 1987, stove was not new, was not horrid, but defintely not new.
20 years later, it was disgusting. The old one got removed today, underneath was not as bad as I'd imagined, only took a bit of scrubbing to get the floor clean.
Now I have a brand new, beautiful stove. Baking is in my future, brioche will be first up, I think.
Of course, tonight, I'm ordering thai food to be delivered. I'm craving and I can't bear to pop the cherry on the new stove tonight and get it filthy.
It's the little things, isn't it?
