That was, hmmm, the nicest Goth Day like ever.

First, and maybe even foremost, it was not all that hot. There were beautiful clouds all morning that kept the Park, well, a bit muggy ... but blessedly free of direct sunlight. And the clouds prettified the Park as a bonus. There was even a slight breeze blowing about the noon hour Hub fashion meet.

My decision to dress actual Goth all day instead of more comfortable punk, for the first time ever, was vindicated.

Also, much as I missed the bon amie of a large LoT contingent, it was somehow more "authentic" hanging with TheatreTech’s band of crazy, booze-guzzling, drug-tripping gothsters. We played with them quite a bit after the noon meet, and later kept cris-crossing with them, and the large MiceChat group, all day.

At one point, all of us, and many others of the goth persuasion, descended on the unsuspecting Hearthstone Lounge in the day’s finale of air-conditioned refuge. The place was hopping, and the Hearthstone didn’t know what hit them.

TheatreTech was beautifully resplendent in an impossibly tight, purple corset. The effect of this, combined with his stove-pipe trousers and high heels, made him seem unnaturally stretched like a piece of human taffy. And with near constant adjustments, his make-up was always flawless and lovely. He’s a beautiful boy and/or girl.

Morrigoon was adorable with her gothed-out hair and simple dress, topped off by a pretty parasol. Gemini Cricket was smartly attired for his very first Goth Day in basic black, with a clever Salem Massachusetts t-shirt. I hope he had a good time, and will be back for many Goth Days in the future.

Ironically, attendance at the Hub Meet seemed to be down a bit ... in a strange inverse relation to how comfortable it was to be dressed in black in the Park at noon. But the Mansion meet was, as usual, overwhelming ... and the Goth presence at the Resort was substantial and eye-popping. (Heheh, it was almost more fun to watch the straights and their reactions than the Goths and their fashion choices. Hanging out with TheatreTech made for some especially excellent reaction moments.)

zapppop and I had a great Goth Day date, as usual. Same ol’ as it may be, it never fails to be fun ... and this was really one of the best of them. No Killer Heat ... who could have imagined?!?
