As for whether it's "just circles", if you look at the bottom-left of the pic you can see the next star of David showing. This is definitely a star of David pattern, as interlocking circles with triangles in between arranged like that are a star of David pattern.

I'm f***ing amazed, myself, and I think in my mind it's more "evidence" that there's always more at work than you think. Just my own belief, I won't defend it in the face of reason.
