Only ate there once and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, despite having to send Susan's steak back twice (though it earned us free desserts).
The two highlights of the experience were
- The appetizer. It was a kind of shared combo appetizer. They brought this low wooden box with slats dividing it into nine even compartments like a tic-tac-toe game. There were four separate appetizers in four of the compartments (ribs, shrimp, and a couple of other items I can't recall). four other compartments had decorative elements. In the center square was a large smooth river rock that had been heated to 500 degrees. The concept was that you place the item that you are about to eat on the rock for a few seconds to warm it up before you eat (everything had been cooked already). Tres cool!
- Dessert. While it almost sounds like something you would get at the fair, it was heavenly. Deep fried pound cake with a scoop of dulce de leche ice cream and drizzled with dulce de leche sauce (yeah - I know that is just a fancy term for caramel). Freakin' amazing.
