I am so disappointed that EH couldn't make it!
That movie was so much fun. A perfect homage to 1950's nuclear/space scare flicks but done in super-saturated primary technicolor style (in HD with a digital projector, ahhhh). I wish imdb had some better quotes, since the writer had a fantastic way of twisting well-worn phrases into looping redundancies. The writing was hilarious, gorgeous sets and buildings of the era, great campy performances.
Variety wrote this up and it says it better than I do:
Quote:
The not-quite-right names, nonsensical plot turns and belabored pseudo-scientific gibberish are all nicely tuned, capturing the know-nothing ethos of Eisenhower-era filmmakers angling to cash in on events (and better movies) they only vaguely understood.

There was a Q&A which made me super jealous of indi filmmakers and all the fun they have hiring friends to be a part of their projects. If only we knew someone with real cash....
Oh, and
here is one of the shorts shown before the film. The Tales from the Pub series was created for YouTube by the same people as Forehead, including the actors.
I hung out with mousepod, the TodiMooers, and Boss Radio afterwards for a snack and shmooze. MP and BR having a go at the history of cinema at the same table is quite a thing to witness, and I am an avid student at the feet of the masters.
Great fun!
