We've been adopted!

Her name is Pumpkin, she's a mostly white cat with orange spots. She tried to join us about a week or two ago, and we were hesitant to let her in at the time, in case she belonged to someone else, but we felt horrible keeping her out. She seemed very intelligent and friendly, but had no collar and was out very late (and seemed desperately interested in coming inside)

Well, anyway, she DOES belong to someone, kinda. After asking around and talking to several people who also thought she was homeless, one of the little girls said her family owns her. I was surprised to find out that not only was she was not an adolescent (due to her size and skinniness, we thought she was), but she had had kittens who were now almost her size!

Anyway, ever since the kittens, she won't stay home at their house, and she won't eat there. Which, I guess, explains her skinniness. The little girl basically said we could let her in, though I plan on approaching the mother if Pumpkin decides to stick around. Tonight is sort of the first experiment, because it's the first time since that Pumpkin came around our front door, and decided (since I allowed her) to walk in. If Barnum doesn't scare her off, that is. He's VERY excited to have someone else in the house.
