DP, tell them that when you go for jury duty. the jury selections Ive been to really would rather you not be there if you're going to constantly have your mind on something else and arent such buttheads to make you stay unless they feel like youre trying to con them.
I did something similar not so long ago. needed to work on a highly volitile project deadline at work. told them straight up I needed to during their initial questioning. "I'll of course stay if you need me to, but thought I should put that out there as I really do need to be somewhere else...it just means I have to work late after I leave here."
they were very understanding and I was the first one released.
bring some of your paperwork for the move with you as a wee bit of backup, just in case.
