I go to a costume dance every year but I've always been one of those boring people wearing something vaguely orange and black and admiring everyone else's creativity. This year I decided to do
something more creative and I bought a pair of orange and black striped tights and then tired to figure out something to go with them. I ended up making a "poodle skirt" only mine is orange with a black cat applique. This is the first sewing I've done in probably twenty years so it's taken up most of my time the past month. I wore it to the dance last night and it turned out rather well. I wore it with a black t-shirt, I made a scarf out of the skirt fabric to tie around my neck, and I found a witch's hat with orange ribbon that matched everything else perfectly: '50's sock hop witch.
