It remains the leading connectivity option for switched data networks.
I should add that there's some flux in terms of which protocol is being sent
over fibre channel, SCSI's days are probably numbered to be replaced by some combination is iSCSI, SAS/SATA, ethernet over fibre, but fibre infrastructure is here to stay for a while.
