Go, if it is good it is worth it (I'm not big on Vietnamese food; it is the closest I come to just dismissing an entire ethnic cuisine but bahn mi is a fantastic thing). There is a place in Oakland's Chinatown where they are fantastic and only like $2.50 each. We used to go get a couple each and take them with us to A's games.
Be warned though, the peppers they use them are essentially made of plasma taken from the surface of the sun. But they are very vital. Get the peppers but take them out before actually eating the sandwich. It'll be bland if you never had them in there but just for having touched the sandwich it will have a decent spiciness to it.
