Old Fashioned Chicken Soup for Crock Pot
INGREDIENTS:
2 onions, chopped
3 carrots, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
dash dried leaf thyme
3 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
1 package frozen peas (10 oz.), about 1 1/2 cups
1 2-1/2 to 3 lb. whole fryer
4 cups chicken stock
1 cup noodles
PREPARATION:
Place all ingredients in slow cooker except noodles, in order given. Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours, or HIGH 4 to 6 hours. One hour before serving, remove chicken and cool slightly. Remove meat from bones and return meat to slow cooker. Add noodles. Turn to HIGH. Cover and cook 1 hour.
