I can totally understand going with a gut reaction though. Sometimes there's no denying it. I really, really hate the term "women's intuition" though. You never hear about "men's intuition", as if there's no such thing, or that women are more in touch with the Force somehow.
I do think that people are too jaded. As a teen/twentysomething I quite often ran into similar situations, from the "freaky young person" perspective. Remember
this guy? I would have totally done something like that.
Anyway, I wouldn't feel too bad, Helen, but I would definitely be more receptive next time.
