This weekend, Wal-Mart will be having a "secret sale" - $499 for a 80GB PS3 with 10 free movies (plus 5 more by mail). But is it worth spending the $$ for a game console that I will probably never use for anything but movies? Should I just buy the movies and wait for a cheaper player after Christmas? Should I wait for Blu-Ray to lose the format wars and pick up the Disney movies when they come out in HD-DVD?
I know that this is a ridiculous dilemma - but does anyone have any opinions?

I also went blu-ray (Samsung) for much the same reason (Disney). The PS3 does get good reviews as a blu-ray player (except the fan is a bit noisy some say).
Note: The '5 free' movies are from a rather small list and you only get one from line one, one from line two, etc....
Walmart just had an HD-DVD player as their door buster for $199.00 so you might get blu now and then wait for another special like that to pickup an HD player.
I will say that Nexflix has been great sending me Blu-Ray's. I just sent back Transformers.
