I finally got to see this last night and it was wonderful. Really sweet and funny.
But there was one part I didn't understand. The girlfriend has just met Giselle and she (the girlfriend) isn't happy. Then the screen goes black but we can still hear the characters talking. Then there's a good minute of the movie theater advertising slide they usually keep on the screen in between showings with some really loud music playing. Then just as suddenly Giselle is back on screen and she's made a dress out of the curtains.
(What? The curtains?) That whole sequence didn't work for me. Maybe the film maker was trying to comment on how modern life constantly bombards us with advertising but I don't think it was effective in the context of the film.
