I'm also with CP (and Alex) on this one. The beautiful thing about LoT is that we're a big mutual fan club. We always pull for everyone else's success. While it might not always be apparent in the tone of each and every post here, I ultimately believe that we are a group of weirdos who want the best for our peers here.
I understand CP's reaction to Pru, because it was also my initial response. I've been vicariously appreciating the tribulations of returning to school and ultimately the wonderful graduation, that I felt like the "that's it" post regarding employment was abrupt. Sure, I've read all of the stories about how difficult it is finding a clerkship (is that the right word?), but as a third party observer, I wasn't aware of the "ticking clock" that our heroine was up against with securing a satisfactory position. In retrospect, I understand the reasons that Pru gave, but I still believe that there's a happy ending for the story, and I want our protagonist to see it.
