The fatalist attitude, the giving up before the diploma has even been framed time frame is crazy. We've supported, held up, listened, commiserated with [about crazy classmmates, unfair teachers] for the past few years. Pru doesn't owe us anything. She only has to answer to herself and BT. But it's the martyr attitude that is being portrayed. Poor me. I didn't land a clerkship because I'm [whatever], I didn't get a job and because I didn't get a clerkship I have no way of getting a job attitude is tiring when compounded on top of the negativity that has encompassed the past year and a half or so.

School is hard. It sucks most of the time. Life is hard, life isn't fair and life can suck. But it is what we make of it - and attitude has a lot to do with where we go in life. Going around with a fatalist attitude, expecting the worst from everyone and everything before it even starts to play out can pretty much turn into a self fulfilling prophecy.

You have to be the change you want to see.

Kevy, I respect what you're saying. I doubt anyone here wants to see Pru fail. I bet we all want to see her succeed. We see things from different points of view. Maybe tough love isn't the answer. But cyber hugs and coddling the martyr attitude aren't the answer either.

Perhaps this isn't the most appropriate post for a public forum and if anyone feels the need to give neg mojo then go for it. But like Kevy, I stand by my words.
