So, this is why you hire professionals to take care of your dogs while you're away....
I'm only doing walks and feeding for Leo at night. The neighbor lets him out of the house in the morning and gives him food and water outside. I get there tonight and not only is the dead bolt locked, but the door knob is locked as well. I don't have a key for the door knob. I go the the neighbors house to see if they have a key. They don't. Apparently the guy who knew the specifics about the door decided he didn't want to let Leo out this morning and sent someone else over instead. They, in turn, locked everyone out of the house. First we broke into the gate to get to the back yard to see if the key would work on any of the back doors. They don't. Then he decided that we could remove a pane of glass in the French doors and unlock that door through the opening. So, he starts chipping away at the wood door. This isn't just glazing putty that he's removing, but actual wood that is part of the door. He completely destroys one whole panel of wood but he gets the glass out without breaking it.
How much is glass now a days? Wouldn't it have been smarter to just break the glass and call a window guy?
Anyways, it's not my dime and I'm just glad this is between neighbors and doesn't involve our company. I'd be interested to know how much it is going to cost my client and if it is more than hiring us to do 2 visits a day.
