MouseWife- that's awesome that your friend is making noticeable progress in the walking! Having a buddy definitely helps.

I'm not on the buddy system so much, but I am trying (and mostly succeeding) to avoid sodas and corn syrup. Some days I do better than others. I agree about the french-fry craving going away. I can even eat fast food and leave the hubby's fries untouched, or only eat a couple of them. Trying to eat more at home, where I have control over my food.

I'm just glad that I made it through the December non-exercise/crazy time without gaining any weight. Now I'm back on the bike as long as the weather holds, and I'm hoping now I can start losing again. I'm excited because my friend is working out on her stationary bike, and is hoping in a year or so she can go biking with me on the trails. That'd be fun. She won't be able to keep up with the group right away so it'd be just she and I, but that's ok too.
