I'm with Jazzman on it. I like that it's a holiday that we've created as a public; regardless of religion or creed you can take part and really feel a part of it. I know when it is in advance, and can make appropriate arrangements for the purchase of food and goods without any fuss. I only regret that I have no one to spend it with this year, since J just left on a work trip this morning, and my only friend in the area is across town... normally not a bad drive, but anyone who might catch my LJ would know why I'm not driving again until this newest snowstorm is over. I'll just have to have my salsa and chips solo today.
Even people who don't like football can get something out of it, especially an advertising junkie such as myself. Except, I do like football, so I'll be watching that part, too.
