I loved it.
The CGI (which was present all through the film, thank you) was seamless, and allowed some grand visions of London, as well as that amazing "By The Sea" frothy sweetness.
I find the humour in the juxtaposition [sp?] of Sweeney singing a tender ballad (originally a quartet) for Johanna, at the same time slitting all those throats. That's the part that really amuses me.
The chair is just brutal now. (love it.) Especially the beadles spectacular landing !! Ouch !
Ending well done, and all of the gore in general was too voluminous to be taken as realistic, and thus didn't gross me out at all. (although the grinder was a bit "hows yer mother")
I can't wait to buy the soundtrack.
