I tried changing the input buttons. I don't remember which input number is the one for the tv.

try the cable box then the tivo box then the vcr box (I still have one
)... all those remotes might turn the tv on..

We have everything through the VCR then VCR to TV through cables... tv has to be on input 2... VCR on input 1 or channel 3 for satellite... and input 2 for Wii...
seems my dad never gets the right channels on.. then my mom cannot get the wii to turn on...
