Sounds like what I'll have to look forward to every time I stay at my parents' house from now on.

My father believes:
  • Expiration dates only exist for companies to make more money.
  • Things don't rot. They just ripen or age and can be scraped off or filtered and still be edible.

How my mother put up with him for 46 years is beyond me.
