As Good as it Gets. Probably the greatest movie role for a dog ever. Sure it wasn't a marquee role like Turner & Hooch or Snow Dogs, but no role has ever signaled more clearly that dogs are no longer second class acting citizens, good only for racially stereotyped comedy relief, or servants treated on screen like so much set dressing. This was a solid supporting character that just happened to be a dog, not some degrading pupsploitation film.
